Workers will soon be using biometrics authentication on a regular basis to gain access to their workplace information. Gartner says that in just three years that 70 percent of organizations will be using biometric access for their smartphone apps, compared to less than 5 percent today.
Ant Allan, research vice president at Gartner, said that “biometric authentication uses biological or behavioral traits unique to each person and offers better UX/CX and accountability than other common methods. Implementing this via smartphone apps provides more consistency in UX/CX and is technically simpler than supporting it directly on a variety of different endpoint devices.”
Markets and Markets research estimate that the facial recognition market will be worth $7.76 billion in 2022.
