Asia Pacific enterprises are preparing to increase their investments in document management and records management software.\u00a0 In Asia Pacific countries, excluding Japan,\u00a0 (APEJ) these are the top two IT areas being targeted for investment.<\/p>\n

A report by IDC<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>found that the APEJ document management market is growing at a five-year compound annual growth rate of 7.42 percent. By 2013, the market should grow to $308.42 million.\u00a0 The bulk of the investment in the region is coming from India and the People’s Republic of China.<\/p>\n

US vendors primarily dominate the APEJ market, led by large companies like IBM, EMC, HP, Oracle and Interwoven.\u00a0 Those five companies represent 58 percent of the market in that region.\u00a0 But local vendors like Newgen Software and Cyberdime are also seeing traction.<\/p>\n

Enterprise spending in APEJ on content management software is increasing in the range of 27.7 to 37.9 percent.<\/p>\n

“Managing content with ever-increasing volumes of information, mounting regulatory pressure, and disparate applications with isolated data repositories, are all still <\/span>big challenges. There is continuous demand for content management software from legacy businesses and developing countries as organizations endeavor <\/span>to transition from manual overlay systems to automated systems,” said Ridhi Sawhney, market analyst of Asia-Pacific Software Research.<\/p>\n
