The AI-driven hardware and software infrastructure spending is expected to grow from $3.5 billion in 2016 to $115 billion by 2025, according to a report by Tractica<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI is poised to make networking smarter. It is expected to improve data throughput, analytics and the provisioning of resources. But AI is also changing networking because as more applications adopt it, workloads and networking requirements are changing from what they’ve been in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas Goepel<\/a>, product manager at HPE, says that<\/a> AI workloads are different from traditional data networking because the data sets are very large and dynamic, compared to traditional data which tends to be more structured and static.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anand Joshi<\/a>, principal analyst at Tractica, said that<\/a> “there are many innovations taking place in AI hardware infrastructure. The opportunity is being pursued by a diverse group of companies and the outcome of this race could have a big impact on the market landscape. Today, cloud service providers are providing the best value by combining many AI software and hardware options at a low price and these providers have figured out the best way to monetize AI technology. As AI workloads become commonplace, innovations in storage and networking will lead to a more specialized infrastructure for AI.”<\/p>\n
