Haptics can help make an experience more immersive and realistic by bringing tangible feedback to user interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Sl\/ced Bread An\/mat\/on blog said that<\/a> “feedback systems simulate the sense of touch through motion, force and vibration to convey sensory information to and from the user. The new technology has a number of uses including the possibility to play music, experience gravity in a video game or feel fabric textures while shopping online. Haptics has the potential to change the way people experience content and interact with on-screen interfaces. The key benefits are enhanced accuracy, superior user-satisfaction and faster response times. Because users get sensational feedback in real-time they input data commands quicker.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IDTechEx is predicting<\/a> that haptics will be a $5 billion market by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Hayward<\/a>, principal analyst at IDTechEx, said that <\/a>“Commercialization of new haptics tends to come in waves, and this key development is likely to open up many opportunities for companies throughout the value chain as users and developers alike come to experience and expect more new advanced haptic effects.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hayward said that haptic actuator technology<\/a> is improving. “New types of actuators, drivers and systems enable the introduction of new effects and the creation of more product value using advanced haptics… We have witnessed a shift in in the direction of innovation efforts to develop the haptics technologies of the future… 2021 will be a critical year for the industry.”<\/p>\n
