plummeted making low-cost embedded vision for industrial robots, drones, and autonomous vehicles, a real possibility.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eetimes.com\/embedded-vision-at-the-tipping-point\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.eetimes.com\/embedded-vision-at-the-tipping-point\/\">The technology for<\/a> computer and embedded vision exists, is now quite cheap, and tools for using it are making it increasingly easy for non-experts to build products based on vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the industrial applications where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fierceelectronics.com\/electronics\/fundamentals-what-embedded-vision\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.fierceelectronics.com\/electronics\/fundamentals-what-embedded-vision\">embedded vision is expected to have an impact<\/a> include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul systems that merge virtual with physical data for medical and training applications<\/li><li><strong>Chemical <\/strong>&#8211; vision is used for improved quality assurance<\/li><li><strong>Consumer Electronics<\/strong> &#8211; Used in electronics like smartphones, computers, game controllers.<\/li><li><strong>Defense <\/strong>&#8211; surveillance drone and aircraft with synthetic vision systems<\/li><li><strong>Drones <\/strong>&#8211; used for agriculture, surveying, and urban planning<\/li><li><strong>Medical <\/strong>&#8211; smart medical devices and monitors<\/li><li><strong>Robotics <\/strong>&#8211; used for robotic mobility, quality control and inspection<\/li><li><strong>Security <\/strong>&#8211; used for video surveillance and intrusion detection<\/li><li><strong>Semiconductors <\/strong>&#8211; used for quality control and inspection<\/li><li><strong>Supply Chain Management<\/strong> &#8211; automated guided vehicles (AGVs), barcode
