{"id":11042,"date":"2021-11-04T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=11042"},"modified":"2021-06-25T16:27:04","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T00:27:04","slug":"quantum-networks-using-entanglement-to-create-unhackable-communication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/quantum-networks-using-entanglement-to-create-unhackable-communication\/","title":{"rendered":"Quantum Networks: Using Entanglement to Create Unhackable Communication"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quantum_network\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quantum_network\">Quantum Computing<\/a> is not just about building lightening-fast qubit-based computer processors, it includes the transmission of qubit information between other quantum processors and across quantum networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quantum networking is facilitated by a phenomenon called entanglement.  Entanglement occurs when the state of particular particles in a group cannot be described independently  without also considering the state of the other particles of the group. Entanglement is unique to quantum computing and does not occur in classical physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.its.caltech.edu\/~xcchen\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.its.caltech.edu\/~xcchen\/\">Xie Chen<\/a>, associate professor of theoretical physics at Caltech, <a href=\"https:\/\/magazine.caltech.edu\/post\/untangling-entanglement\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/magazine.caltech.edu\/post\/untangling-entanglement\">said that<\/a> \u201cwhen particles are entangled, it\u2019s as if they are born that way, like twins. Even though they might be separated right after birth, [they\u2019ll] still look the same. And they grow up having a lot of personality traits that are similar to each other.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/spyridon-michalakis-a0680b5a\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/spyridon-michalakis-a0680b5a\/\">Spyridon Michalakis<\/a>, physicist at Caltech, <a href=\"https:\/\/magazine.caltech.edu\/post\/untangling-entanglement\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/magazine.caltech.edu\/post\/untangling-entanglement\">said that <\/a>\u201cthe particles act together like a single object whose identity lies not with the individual components but in a higher plane. It becomes something larger than itself. And like with the Internet 40 years ago, there are probably many applications we cannot foresee right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a
