Exploits have long targeted scripting languages like Javascript, Actionscript, and VBScript.  Languages like Java, C, C#, and C++ have been languages frequently used for creating malware in the past too. It may not be surprising that hackers are using different computer languages to create their exploits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Increasingly malware is being identified that has been <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.blackberry.com\/en\/2021\/07\/old-dogs-new-tricks-attackers-adopt-exotic-programming-languages\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.blackberry.com\/en\/2021\/07\/old-dogs-new-tricks-attackers-adopt-exotic-programming-languages\">written using more modern languages like G<\/a>o, Rust, Num and DLang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After being declared the top Programming language in 2016 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/python-was-the-programming-language-king-of-2020\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/python-was-the-programming-language-king-of-2020\">TIOBE<\/a>, Go has begun to become popular for malware.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/criminals-are-jumping-on-this-niche-programming-language-to-write-the-latest-malware\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/criminals-are-jumping-on-this-niche-programming-language-to-write-the-latest-malware\">A report by Intezer<\/a> found that \u201cA big part of the current Linux malware written in Go are bots that either are used for DDoS or installing cryptominers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/saumitramdas\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/saumitramdas\/\">Saumitra Das<\/a>, CTO and cofounder of Blue Hexagon , <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securityweek.com\/new-variant-buer-malware-loader-written-rust-evade-detection\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.securityweek.com\/new-variant-buer-malware-loader-written-rust-evade-detection\">said that<\/a> \u201cRust-based malware has been gaining popularity over the last few years. It is becoming more common as attackers try to evade improving detection systems. There are already open-source implementations of sample malware Ransomware.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/eric-milam\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/eric-milam\/\">Eric Milam<\/a>, VP of Threat Research at BlackBerry, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.blackberry.com\/en\/2021\/07\/old-dogs-new-tricks-attackers-adopt-exotic-programming-languages\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blogs.blackberry.com\/en\/2021\/07\/old-dogs-new-tricks-attackers-adopt-exotic-programming-languages\">said that<\/a> \u201cmalware authors are known for their ability to adapt and modify their skills and behaviors to take advantage of newer technologies. This has multiple benefits from the development cycle and inherent lack of coverage from protective products. This paper looks into less prolific programming languages and their use in the malware space. It is critical that industry and customers understand and keep tabs on these trends, as they are only going to increase.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
