IT spending made a comeback in 2021 and Gartner is forecasting a solid 5.5 percent growth rate in 2022. Enterprise software is expected to lead with 11.5 percent forecast. The reason is infrastructure spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IT spending surpassed $4 trillion globally in 2021 and will reach nearly $4.5 trillion in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John-David Lovelock<\/a>, Research Vice President at Gartner, said that<\/a> \u201centerprises will increasingly build new technologies and software, rather than buy and implement them, leading to overall slower spending levels in 2022 compared to 2021. However, digital tech initiatives remain a top strategic business priority for companies as they continue to reinvent the future of work, focusing spending on making their infrastructure bulletproof and accommodating increasingly complex hybrid work for employees going into 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Lebron<\/a>, senior director at Canon, said that<\/a> “corporate information technology, plans to continue investing in artificial intelligence and cloud services. \u201cAs digital transformation continues to expand into a true hybrid setting, expectations will continue to evolve, and so will the investments in technology. IT leaders will seek out opportunities to automate processes and protect data.”<\/p>\n
