As we move into 2022, Gartner is forcasting<\/a> that globally IT spending will be about $4.5 trillion in 2022, an increase of about 5 percent over 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a move away from short-term to multi-year projects by enterprises in 2022. But tech talent is in short supply which is causing many companies to seek help from outsourcing , consultants, and managed services. Priorities for CIOs<\/a> going into 2022 include digital transformation and modernization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John-David Lovelock<\/a>, research vice president at Gartner, said that<\/a> “2022 is the year that the future returns for the CIO. They are now in a position to move beyond the critical, short term projects over the past two years and focus on the long term. Simultaneously, staff skills gaps, wage inflation and the war for talent will push CIOs to rely more on consultancies and managed service firms to pursue their digital strategies.”<\/p>\n
