{"id":11881,"date":"2022-12-22T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=11881"},"modified":"2022-06-01T09:35:15","modified_gmt":"2022-06-01T17:35:15","slug":"the-employee-experience-tuning-the-controls-to-improve-job-satisfaction-and-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/the-employee-experience-tuning-the-controls-to-improve-job-satisfaction-and-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"The Employee Experience: Tuning the Controls to Improve Job Satisfaction and Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Businesses are moving forward with plans for Digital Transformation &#8212; and key to success with these plans is to deploy digital workplace tools with intuitive user interfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A well-designed digital experience can enhance worker engagement and productivity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/downloads\/cas\/ZEND5PM6\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/downloads\/cas\/ZEND5PM6\">according to a study by IBM<\/a>.  Employee experiences that are well-designed help to both attract and retain workers and also to improve worker productivity and job satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IBM report identified three spheres of employee interactions, each of which impact the overall employee experience: physical environments, social connections, and content of the work performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The overlap and intersection of these three spheres define more specific facets of employee experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Community <\/strong>&#8211; Employee effectiveness is affected by interactions and relationships with others in the organization<\/li><li><strong>Physical Workspace<\/strong> &#8211; The workspace configuration and furniture used can enhance team interaction and provide space for concentration.<\/li><li><strong>Environment <\/strong>&#8211; Beyond office furniture and layout, environmental things like temperature, noise, and ventilation should be considered how it impacts employee productivity.<\/li><li><strong>Tools <\/strong>&#8211; Increasingly employees do their jobs by interacting with software tools.  Software design is an important element of employee engagement and satisfaction.<\/li><li><strong>Activities<\/strong> &#8211; The elements of the employee&#8217;s job and the extent to which they can grow and master the tasks they perform, providing challenge and a sense of purpose are important components of the employee experience.<\/li><li><strong>Social Platforms<\/strong> &#8211; Social platforms can help support organizational innovation and provide a center for the exchange of data.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a
