{"id":11956,"date":"2023-02-02T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=11956"},"modified":"2022-07-01T15:29:10","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T23:29:10","slug":"cloud-data-management-provides-benefits-of-cost-savings-and-efficiency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/cloud-data-management-provides-benefits-of-cost-savings-and-efficiency\/","title":{"rendered":"Cloud Data Management: Provides Benefits of Cost Savings and Efficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A combination of one part cloud computing and another part data management builds the foundation of a one of top-priority components for many enterprise CIOs: <em>Cloud Data Management<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The benefits of managing enterprise data in the cloud include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Centralizes the management of the data pipeline to manage enterprise data efficiently.<\/li><li>Centralizes management of data quality and metadata.<\/li><li>Centralizes company information and knowledge.<\/li><li>Centralizes management of security, governance, and compliance for the enterprise.<\/li><li>Provides modern capabilities like containers, serverless, APIs, and microservices.<\/li><li>Easier scalability\/elasticity for aggregating data from all aspects of business data.<\/li><li>Easier to set up and administer compared to on-premise solutions.<\/li><li>Easier auditability.<\/li><li>Built-in product upgrades.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mikewaas\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mikewaas\/\">Mike Waas<\/a>, CEO of Datometery, in an interview with TDWI summarized two major benefits of cloud data management:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waas <a href=\"https:\/\/tdwi.org\/articles\/2022\/02\/16\/diq-all-data-management-and-the-cloud.aspx\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/tdwi.org\/articles\/2022\/02\/16\/diq-all-data-management-and-the-cloud.aspx\">said that<\/a> &#8220;not surprisingly, the primary benefit is the anticipation of drastic savings. Compared to an on-premises data warehouse appliance, cloud-native systems can achieve a cost reduction of up to 75 percent. The savings are a combination of lower fees and a reduction in personnel because managed cloud systems liberate enterprises from having to staff large support teams. A close second when it comes to benefits is the prospect of generating new revenue. In the cloud, companies expect to be able to tap into a bevy of integrated processing capabilities, ranging from the flexibility and rapid scaling to complete vertical-specific solutions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
