An Industry cloud platform is a cloud platform that includes software and infrastructure that is configured and tuned to target the needs of a specific vertical industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gregor Petri<\/a>, VP Analyst at Gartner, said that “in effect, industry cloud platforms turn a cloud platform into a business platform, enabling an existing technological innovation tool to also serve as a business innovation tool. They do so \u2014 not as predefined, one-off, vertical SaaS solutions \u2014 but rather as modular, composable platforms supported by a catalog of industry-specific packaged business capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A big advantage of a vertical cloud solution is that business, financial, and compliance issues all specific to the industry are already addressed as part of the solution. Industry Clouds go well past just managing IT data centers, they now also have on-staff experts in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
