What is the profile of a candidate buyer of services sold using the SaaS model?\u00a0 A new report<\/a> by market research company Celent<\/a> discusses SaaS trends in the European insurance market.\u00a0 A Tekrati article<\/a> quotes\u00a0Catherine Stagg-Macey,\u00a0senior insurance analyst and author of the report,\u00a0as saying that SaaS buyers typically view IT as a commodity item.\u00a0 These customers see the ROI in using SaaS because it\u00a0allows them to reduce costs and to also to reduce downtime.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Celent sees a trend of early adoptors as small and medium size companies that are looking for competitive advantage.\u00a0 Most large established insurance companies are more conservative and already have an IT infrastructure in place.\u00a0 For those larger companies the benefits of SaaS are less compelling.\u00a0 At least for now.\u00a0 That type of thinking is expected to change in three to five years time.\u00a0 The Celent report outlines growth trends in this market.<\/p>\n
