Formtek CAD T-Engine 3.1 introduces advanced 3D PDF transformations for Computer-Aided Design visualization<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Formtek CAD Transform Engine (FTKCAD T-Engine) is a component of the Formtek Engineering Data Management (EDM) Solution<\/em><\/strong><\/a> for Alfresco Content Services, and provides custom transformers to convert Computer-Aided Design (CAD) file content into high-fidelity vector PDF (preview), PNG (thumbnail), and JPG (image preview) formats for viewing in Alfresco. It also provides metadata extraction and embedding capabilities for supported CAD drawing formats. The FTKCAD T-Engine can be used standalone, or in conjunction with the Formtek EDM Module, and Alfresco Share or Alfresco Digital Workspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New in this release:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this release, users gain the ability to generate interactive 3D PDF renditions – a critical feature for organizations requiring precise 3D visualization. The FTKCAD T-Engine creates multi-page PDF previews that display all CAD models of a CAD drawing as individual pages, ensuring comprehensive visual context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When paired with the Formtek EDM Module release 4.3, users can select a \u201cDownload 3D PDF\u201d action, which generates a portable 3D rendition of major CAD formats including DWG, DXF, DWT, DWF, DGN\/DGNLIB, and IFC. The interactive 3D PDF is then viewable in standard tools that support 3D PDF, including Adobe Acrobat Reader and the Foxit PDF Reader.<\/p>\n\n\n

The FTKCAD T-Engine release 3.1 is certified for Alfresco Content Services versions 23.x on Windows and Linux. Formtek customers and partners can refer to Knowledge Base Article 642<\/em><\/strong><\/a> in the Formtek Online Support portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
