 Robust growth of SaaS market in Asia SME market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Springboard Research\" href=\"http:\/\/www.springboardresearch.com\" target=\"_blank\">Springboard Research<\/a> has published a <a title=\"Springboard Reasearch Report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.springboardresearch.com\/content\/pdfs\/saas_preview_asia.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> showing that SaaS in Asia Pacific was US$80 million in 2005 and that it is expected to grow roughly 80% each year through 2008.\u00a0 The report is based on a survey they made of 210 CIOs and IT decision makers at small and medium sized\u00a0enterprises in Australia, China, India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>CRM makes up 50% of the market.\u00a0 Web Conferencing and Collaboration is at 30%, and back-office applications, like ERP, are at 9%.<\/p>\n<p>Salesforce.com is the SaaS market leader among those surveyed at 21%.\u00a0 WebEx at 11%, RightNow Technologies at 9%, Oracle 6% and NetSuite 4%.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image148\" alt=\"SaaS Growth in Asia\" src=\"http:\/\/www.formtek.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/12\/Asia%20Pacific%20SaaS%20Growth.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The report has the following findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SaaS is a long-term industry trend<\/li>\n<li>SaaS vendor winners will be those that offer quality software, more so than other discriminators in selecting vendors in the past.\u00a0 Because solutions are stood up much more quickly, customers have greater opportunity to try multiple options to find\u00a0the vendor that best meets their needs.<\/li>\n<li>Like the US, the SaaS-based CRM segment leads in acceptance.\u00a0 The report expects acceptance to spread next to Security and Collaboration.<\/li>\n<li>Like the US, existing vendors are wary of the SaaS model and how their acceptance of it could canibalize their existing business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
