As companies adopt or consider adopting new technologies like cloud computing, mobile\/remote access, and social media, security is becoming a top priority. \u00a0\u00a0CompTIA<\/a>‘s 2010 Global Security Trends\u00a0survey found that 63 percent of companies experienced at least one security breach last year, and half of those breaches were classified as serious and creating either a financial threat or damage to the reputation of the organization.<\/p>\n

49 percent of organizations \u00a0now consider security as one of their top IT priorities, up from 35 percent in 2008. \u00a0CompTIA is forecasting that new technologies are going to force that number to rise as high as 62 percent by 2012.<\/p>\n

Tim Herbert, vice president or research at CompTIA said “Information security affects more organizations on more levels as technology permeates every functional area of a business and more staff members assume the role of knowledge worker. \u00a0As organisations invest in new solutions to give employees anytime, anywhere access to information, tools and collaboration, they must contend with the possibility of introducing new vulnerabilities into the security equation.”<\/div>\n
