Last week I\u00a0discussed<\/a> how the Burton group sees a shift away from emphasis on technologies like Capture and Storage within ECM\u00a0towards technologies that alleviate ‘Information Overload’.\u00a0 But these ‘first wave’ technologies are not standing still.\u00a0 Expect big changes in the area of storage.<\/p>\n

Arun Taneja<\/a> has an article<\/a> where he discusses some of the activity that has been brewing in the area of storage and makes some predictions about what might happen in 2007.<\/p>\n

Taneja notes that many many storage startups began in 2000 and 2001.\u00a0\u00a0 Much of the new technologies that these companies worked on are now beginning to make an impact on the marketplace.\u00a0 In a market where IPOs have become rare, 2006 saw four IPOs within the Storage space.\u00a0\u00a0It hasn’t been since Xyratex<\/a> in 2004\u00a0made an IPO<\/a> as a storage company.\u00a0<\/p>\n
