Yesterday we saw that despite the hype and studies documenting the benefits of collaboration technologies, many companies haven’t ventured into collaboration far beyond web conferencing. \u00a0And a new report from Aberdeen <\/a>doesn’t even want to credit those companies for their adoption of web conferencing as being users of collaborative technology.<\/p>\n

Aberdeen classifies most web conferences as either being one-way lectures or training or large groups of people talking with unfocused business goals. \u00a0Aberdeen criticizes many companies by not having a focused plan for how to use social and collaborative technologies. \u00a0Simply aggregating or bringing people together in a web conference isn’t enough.<\/p>\n

Aberdeen says that the term “collaboration” has been\u00a0abused <\/a>and they define enterprise collaboration is simply the act of “teams working together to achieve business-driven goals”. \u00a0Aberdeen identifies the following technologies as collaboration enablers:<\/p>\n
