Small Businesses have jumped into Social Media in a big way. \u00a0 As many as 69 percent of small business have adopted some form of Social Media, where the definition of Social Media includes Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or blogging. \u00a0Of those companies that aren’t yet using Social Media, 41 percent say that within the next three months that they plan to adopt some sort of Social Media presence. \u00a0The survey and results were made by web.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And Small Businesses are asking for more. \u00a0Of those businesses currently with a presence in Social Media, 77 percent say that they plan to increase the amount of money that they will spend on it in the coming year. \u00a0 Businesses are finding that Social Media helps them to better reach out and communicate with their customers. \u00a062.1 percent of them agreed that reaching their customers was a big reason for them to use Social Media, and 34.3 percent said that it was an important reason. \u00a0But Social Media is also being used to build and promote brands, broadcast company news and to attract new customers.<\/p>\n

Among Social Media outlets, the favorite is FaceBook.<\/p>\n

That’s not to say that everything has been rosy between Small Business and Social Media. \u00a0There has been some amount of disillusionment. \u00a0Many businesses had expected more. \u00a040.5 percent feel that Social Media has met or exceeded their expectations, but as many as 42.8 percent think that it has only somewhat met their expectations, and 17 percent thought that it was over-hyped.<\/p>\n
