Source:  Enterprises Prefer Open Source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In another sign that use of Open Source software in organizations is now mainstream, <a title=\"FuseSource\" href=\"http:\/\/fusesource.com\" target=\"_blank\">FuseSource<\/a>, an open source integration and messaging solutions company, released <a title=\"FuseSource Open Source survey results\" href=\"http:\/\/fusesource.com\/collateral\/145\" target=\"_blank\">the results of a survey <\/a>that attempts to profile the usage of Open Source within the enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>The survey reported the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>51 percent of respondents said that they plan to deploy Open Source software in more than 50 percent of their enterprise application projects.<\/li>\n<li>73 percent of respondents said that Open Source provided them greater flexibility than traditional software license models<\/li>\n<li>58 percent of respondents said that Open Source helped them to reduce their development time schedule<\/li>\n<li>89 percent of respondents said that the potential cost savings of Open Source is a driving factor that caused them to consider the use of Open Source<\/li>\n<li>73 percent of respondents said that Open Source software often offered superior technical benefits when compared to traditional software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"_mcePaste\"><a title=\"Larry Alson, President FuseSource, bio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/larryalston\" target=\"_blank\">Larry Alston<\/a>, president at FuseSource said that &#8220;Open source solutions \u2013 as a category \u2013 are now legitimately viewed as a highly attractive alternative to proprietary, high-priced solutions from traditional commercial vendors, and in fact are creating new market opportunities.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
