Stefan Tilkov<\/a> of InnoQ<\/a>, a German services company with expertise in Software architecture related to SOA<\/a>, Web Services<\/a>, SOAP<\/a>, WSDL<\/a>, UDDI<\/a>\u00a0and XML<\/a>, has created a vendor-neutral poster<\/a> showing a matrix<\/a> of Web Services Standards.<\/p>\n

The poster\u00a0isa useful collection of\u00a0more than 60 WS-* standards and specifications.\u00a0 One caveat though is that it treats all entries equally\u00a0— it doesn’t address the quality or acceptance of the standard, and because of that, the picture that it provides may be a little distorted.<\/p>\n

For each entry, the poster lists\u00a0a brief description, the\u00a0current status, version, and list of contributors.\u00a0 The standards are categorized and color coded into groups that include XML, messaging, metadata, reliability, security, transactions, resources, business processes, management, presentation and interoperability.<\/p>\n

The overview poster is great for pointing out what’s available and provides a good starting point for further research.<\/p>\n
