Gartner’s annual survey and magic-quadrant rankings for the Enterprise Content Management <\/a>(ECM<\/a>) market is out, and it shows that the market for ECM is growing at a rate much faster than the rest of the economy. \u00a0[The report is freely available<\/a>, complements to Hyland Software<\/a>, one of the top six ECM vendors as ranked in the report.]<\/p>\n

After the downturn in the economy in 2008, ECM grew 5.1 percent in 20090 and then 7.6 percent in 2010. \u00a0The global ECM market finished at $3.9 billion at the end of 2010. \u00a0Gartner predicts steady and strong growth in the ECM market through 2015, averaging 11.4 percent compound annual growth. \u00a0ECM is strong in these difficult times because many companies are continuing to cut their costs and trying to increase productivity, and ECM is seen as a proven tool to do just that.<\/p>\n
