 Oracle Unwraps 12-month Roadmap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Oracle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\">Oracle<\/a> <a title=\"Oracle Stellent acquisition\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/stellent\/oracle-stellent-general-presentation.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">completed<\/a> its $440 million acquisition of Stellent in December 2006.\u00a0 Stellent brings\u00a0to Oracle a best-of-breed software suite that already has significant presence within the $3.6 billion ECM industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday Oracle laid out their strategy with the ECM space for the next 12 months.\u00a0 Oracle <a title=\"Oracle ECM strategy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/stellent\/oracle-stellent-general-presentation.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">plans<\/a> five product component releases over the next year that integrate Stellent and Oracle&#8217;s own technology.\u00a0 The combined ECM product will be known as the Oracle Enterprise Content Managment Suite and will consist of\u00a0five components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Universal Content Management<\/li>\n<li>Universal Records Management<\/li>\n<li>Imaging Process Management<\/li>\n<li>Information Rights Management<\/li>\n<li>Content Database Suite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of these five pieces, all but Content DB will be based almost exclusively on components of the Universal Content Management product acquired from Stellent.\u00a0 One thing that hasn&#8217;t changed in Oracle&#8217;s strategy though is their plan for all these products to be able to store all content in Oracle databases, both metadata and unstructured files.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oracle also plans integration between their ECM suite and Oracle application servers, identity management software, and Oracle Secure Enterprise Search.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
