{"id":375,"date":"2007-08-06T07:00:48","date_gmt":"2007-08-06T15:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.formtek.com\/blog\/?p=375"},"modified":"2007-08-06T07:00:48","modified_gmt":"2007-08-06T15:00:48","slug":"ecm-effective-use-of-unstructured-data-supercharges-enterprises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/ecm-effective-use-of-unstructured-data-supercharges-enterprises\/","title":{"rendered":"ECM:  Effective use of Unstructured Data SuperCharges Enterprises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>94% of Best-In-Class companies report that the integretion of unstructured data management into their business processes improves reponse to customer demands by more than 10%.\u00a0 The <a title=\"Aberdeen report on Unstructured Data\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aberdeen.com\/includes\/asp\/sponsored_registration.asp?ci=\/launch\/report\/benchmark\/4114-RA-unstructured-structured-information.asp&#038;spid=\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a>, Data Management 2.0: Making Sense of Unstructured Data, was sponsored by Business Objects and comes from the <a title=\"Aberdeen Group\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aberdeen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aberdeen Group<\/a>\u00a0Inc., a <a title=\"Harte Hanks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.harte-hanks.com\/\">Harte Hanks<\/a> company.<\/p>\n<p>That statistic is interesting because it really hits home on ROI for enterprises when considering the benefits of an ECM system.\u00a0 It&#8217;s considerably more tangible than trying to estimate the ROI from a system used to help achieve compliance or assist with eDiscovery.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the report&#8217;s findings include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compared to the previous two years, 84% Best-In-Class companies reported improvement in time spent searching for knowledge objects<br \/>\n(employee productivity).<\/li>\n<li>80% of the Best-in-Class companies reported providing structure to unstructured data as a high or top priority.<\/li>\n<li>54% of Best-in-Class organizations already have a well-defined data management strategy in place. This is nearly twice the rate of Industry Average organizations (30%) and Laggards (23%).<\/li>\n<li>Best-in-class companies have well defined data management, enterprise search and content management strategies in place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
