The speed of Cloud Acceptance sometimes seems astounding. \u00a0I was surprised to see a recent survey that found that nearly half of CPA’s have already adopted some form of cloud computing<\/a>. \u00a0CPA’s tend to be conservative and highly risk adverse lot given the sensitivity of the financial information which they work with. \u00a0This coupled with the fact that cloud security, despite continual improvement, remains a top worry for all adopters of the technology. \u00a0While half of CPA’s may be using cloud services, it would be interesting to dig a bit deeper to find out exactly how they’re using it, what types of data they trust putting into the cloud, and to what kinds of data volumes they are storing in the cloud.<\/p>\n

Erik Asgeirsson<\/a>, president and CEO of CPA2Biz, said that “these results underscore what we\u2019ve preached for some time. \u00a0Web-based services are here to stay. But firms need to do their homework, put in place well-defined service agreements and choose vendors who have a demonstrated commitment to ongoing technology assurance services.”<\/p>\n

The CPA2Biz report found that CPA clients often look to the CPA to advise and recommend technology options.
