The total amount of information available in the world, or the ‘digital universe’, is expected to double every two years from now until 2020, according to IDC research sponsored by EMC<\/a>. \u00a0In 2020, there will be more than five terabytes of information stored for every person on the earth, for a total of more than 40,000 exabytes of data.<\/p>\n
