href=\"http:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20140619005491\/en\/Industry%E2%80%99s-Largest-Cloud-Computing-Survey-Reveals-5X#.U6RAHfldV8E\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"Michael Skok bio\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mjskok\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Skok<\/a>, general partner with North Bridge Venture Partners.<\/p>\n<p>Skok and team members at North Bridge Venture Partners recently released their fourth annual <a title=\"2014 Future of Cloud Computing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.northbridge.com\/industry-largest-cloud-computing-survey-reveals-5x-adoption-saas\" target=\"_blank\">Future of Cloud Computing<\/a> survey. \u00a0Many of the interesting highlights of the report are not so much about the future of the industry as they are about how the industry has grown to date so quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Some results from the survey include:<\/p>\n<p>The top three drivers for cloud adoption are agility, cost and scalability<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>49 percent say that they&#8217;ve already starting using the cloud to help create new products or revenues<\/li>\n<li>45 percent said that they plan to run their company from the cloud<\/li>\n<li>67 percent of organizations are planning to move their data into the cloud over the next two years<\/li>\n<li>49 percent have concerns about cloud security<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skok said that &#8220;with four years of data, we&#8217;re now really beginning to see some interesting trends, such as the five-fold increase in SaaS adoption to 74 percent and the nearly six-fold increase in PaaS adoption to 41 percent&#8230; \u00a0With over 11,000 cloud services and APIs, and developer adoption of IaaS at 56 percent and PaaS at 46 percent we are going to begin seeing the birth of new, re-imagined, cloud-native applications.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 1px
