billion by 2017, as forecast by research company Frost &amp; Sullivan. \u00a0Within PLM, the collaborative product definition management (cPDM) sector is expected to see the largest growth.<\/p>\n<p>A parallel report by <a title=\"Research and Markets report on cPDM\" href=\"http:\/\/www.researchandmarkets.com\/research\/q6v8zk\/global_cpdm\" target=\"_blank\">Research and Markets<\/a> finds that the global cPDM market will grow at an annual rate of 8.41 percent from 2013 to 2018.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Karthik Sundram bio\" href=\"in.linkedin.com\/pub\/karthik-sundaram\/2\/235\/a38\" target=\"_blank\">Karthik Sundaram<\/a>, research analyst at\u00a0Frost &amp; Sullivan, said that\u00a0&#8220;the increasing focus on collaborative operations will play a key role in influencing PLM functionality in discrete industries. \u00a0Hence, capabilities such as product data management, portfolio management, collaboration solutions, content management and enterprise integration that provide an able platform for discrete manufacturers to heighten innovation, efficiency and operational productivity will help expand the global cPDM market.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"PLM rankings for 2013\" href=\"http:\/\/www.engineering.com\/PLMERP\/ArticleID\/8362\/PLM-Spending-A-period-of-Digestion-after-two-years-of-explosive-growth.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">CIMdata ranked<\/a> the top six
