{"id":4980,"date":"2014-11-24T07:00:04","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T15:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=4980"},"modified":"2014-10-23T21:10:54","modified_gmt":"2014-10-24T05:10:54","slug":"business-collaboration-2015-will-be-the-year-of-enterprise-productivity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/business-collaboration-2015-will-be-the-year-of-enterprise-productivity\/","title":{"rendered":"Business Collaboration: 2015 will be the Year of Enterprise Productivity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s mobile collaboration just isn&#8217;t there yet. \u00a0Rather than aligning with overall business needs, today&#8217;s business mobile apps are focused more on personal productivity and task efficiency. \u00a0That&#8217;s based on the results of a <a title=\"Harmon.ie survey\" href=\"http:\/\/harmon.ie\/Company\/PressReleases\/report-finds-mobile-enterprise-collaboration-still-immature\" target=\"_blank\">survey by\u00a0enterprise mobile collaboration firm harmon.ie<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the harmon.ie\u00a0report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IT investments are not aligned with business needs.<\/strong> \u00a0The survey found a sharp divergence between what IT felt were mobile priorities versus what people on the business side thought.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile enterprise collaboration is focused too much on personal productivity.<\/strong>\u00a0 Most business mobile users have office-supplied email, calendar and contacts, but those users report their are few other tools provided for internal or external collaboration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Low marks on mobile enterprise mobility.<\/strong> \u00a021 percent of IT gave their companies low marks. \u00a0Just 7 percent of people on the business side said they were doing well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Companies often use non-secure collaboration tools.<\/strong> \u00a0Skype and GoogleDrive are widely used by upwards of 40 percent of enterprise users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Kevin Benedict bio\" href=\"http:\/\/kevinbenedict.sys-con.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Benedict<\/a>, senior analyst for IT consulting firm Cognizant, <a title=\"Cognizant quote on Mobile collaboration\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fiercemobileit.com\/story\/mobile-enterprise-collaboration-has-wrong-focus-survey-finds\/2014-10-23\" target=\"_blank\">said that<\/a>\u00a0&#8220;many of the greatest challenges enterprises are facing in 2014 are derived from a lack of understanding of the competitive importance of mobile and collaboration platforms, and how strategic these technologies are to their future success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>harmon.ie predicts that 2015 will become the &#8220;Year of Mobile Enterprise productivity&#8221;. \u00a0Move than 90 percent say that they businesses plan to spend as much or more on enterprise collaboration tools in 2015 as they did in 2014.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Yaacov Cohen bio\" href=\"http:\/\/harmon.ie\/Company\/ExecutiveTeam\" target=\"_blank\">Yaacov Cohen<\/a>, CEO of harmon.ie, said that\u00a0&#8220;for this forecast to become a reality, enterprises need to move well beyond the current focus on personal productivity. In today&#8217;s competitive market, giving workers the ability to exchange emails, share files or send instant messages simply isn&#8217;t enough. \u00a0Some enterprises are already headed in the right direction and understand the need for multi-modal, real-time collaboration to streamline projects and complete critical business processes. We expect 2015 to be a game-changing year in mobile enterprise collaboration as the focus shifts away from individual employees and onto the connected enterprise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div
