Coming this Summer, Microsoft plans to release the next version of the Windows OS, version 10. \u00a0Microsoft also\u00a0recently announced<\/a> that they will be phasing out Internet Explorer in this version of the operating system, being replaced by a new browser that is currently being code-named ‘Spartan’. \u00a0Internet Explorer 11 is expected to be released alongside Spartan on the new OS, but going forward, the focus will be on Spartan. \u00a0Spartan is available for preview now as part of early releases of Windows 10.<\/p>\n

While Internet Explorer is still the most widely used browser, its user base has been eroding, and it has a bad reputation among web designers, developers and other techies. \u00a0Microsoft even poked fun at itself with the introduction of Internet Explorer version 9 in 2012, calling Internet Explorer\u00a0the “browser you loved to hate”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Joe Belfiore<\/a> of Microsoft, wrote that Spartan is “fast, compatible, and built for the modern Web. \u00a0Project Spartan is designed to work the way you do, with features enabling you to do cool things like write or type on a webpage. \u00a0It’s a browser that is made for easy sharing, reading, discovery and getting things done online.”<\/p>\n
