Vendor Revenues Up Despite Declining Prices as Capacity Shipped Explodes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Disk storage capable of holding up to 28 billion gigabytes or 28.3 exabytes were sold in the first quarter of 2015, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idc.com\/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS25666715\" target=\"_blank\">according to a report by IDC<\/a>. \u00a0That&#8217;s a 41 percent jump from sales in the same quarter in 2014. \u00a0Sales amounted to $8.7 billion, a 6.8 percent increase from the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>The top five storage vendors by market share are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EMC &#8211; 17.4 percent<\/li>\n<li>HP &#8211; 14.6 percent<\/li>\n<li>Dell &#8211; 10.2 percent<\/li>\n<li>NetApp &#8211; 8.7 percent<\/li>\n<li>IBM &#8211; 6.0 percent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of the top five vendors except HP lost market share to a growing list of &#8216;other vendors&#8217;. \u00a0HP increased share by 1.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
