{"id":5631,"date":"2015-09-03T07:00:06","date_gmt":"2015-09-03T15:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=5631"},"modified":"2015-07-27T10:25:38","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T18:25:38","slug":"data-analytics-businesses-disappointed-with-their-efforts-to-apply-analytics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/data-analytics-businesses-disappointed-with-their-efforts-to-apply-analytics\/","title":{"rendered":"Data Analytics: Businesses Disappointed With Their Efforts to Apply Analytics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Enterprises aren&#8217;t satisfied with their tools for data analytics. \u00a0A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kpmg.com\/Global\/en\/IssuesAndInsights\/ArticlesPublications\/Documents\/going-beyond-the-data-turning-v1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">report from KPMG International<\/a> found that while 97 percent of organizations surveyed said that they use data analytics, only 19 percent were satisfied with the results from their analytics tools.<\/p>\n<p>The report describes successes achieved by using data analytics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>86 percent of organizations say that data analytics helps them make decisions more quickly<\/li>\n<li>81 percent of organizations use analytics to improve their understanding of customers<\/li>\n<li>50 percent of US businesses say they&#8217;ve increased sales as a result of applying data analytics<\/li>\n<li>41 percent of C-level executives say that data analytics has helped them create targeted offerings for prospective customers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But the report also notes a number of challenges:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>58 percent of organizations doubt the quality and accuracy of the data used for analytics<\/li>\n<li>Only 14 percent of organizations say that they have the right talent and capabilities to fully use data analytics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/nova-spivack\" target=\"_blank\">Nova Spivack<\/a>, CEO\u00a0of Bottlenose, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kpmg.com\/Global\/en\/IssuesAndInsights\/ArticlesPublications\/Documents\/going-beyond-the-data-turning-v1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">said that<\/a> &#8220;companies are getting really good at collecting\u00a0data, but they are having big problems connecting\u00a0it. Analyzing a single source of data will never\u00a0drive real value; it takes multiple streams of data\u00a0to get real insight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kpmg.com\/de\/de\/kontakt\/seiten\/christian-rast.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Rast<\/a>, KPMG Global Head of data analytics, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/kpmg-study-finds-widespread-adoption-of-data-and-analytics-among-businesses-yet-many-challenged-to-derive-value-from-the-data-300107996.html\" target=\"_blank\">said that<\/a> &#8220;in the last two years we\u2019ve seen a tremendous increase in data analytics\u00a0adoption and maturity across organizations; for example, more than 80 percent in our survey say they are making faster, more accurate decisions with data analytics, and over 67 per cent use data analytics\u00a0to reduce risk. \u00a0Yet, we also know that business leaders face some critical challenges in realizing the full value of their data insights in the areas of revenue growth, serving customers and overall competitive advantage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
