{"id":5786,"date":"2015-11-02T07:00:58","date_gmt":"2015-11-02T15:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=5786"},"modified":"2015-09-20T09:54:53","modified_gmt":"2015-09-20T17:54:53","slug":"venture-spending-cloud-computing-and-mobile-top-sectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/venture-spending-cloud-computing-and-mobile-top-sectors\/","title":{"rendered":"Venture Spending:  Cloud Computing and Mobile Top Sectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/pages\/technology-media-and-telecommunications\/articles\/global-venture-capital-confidence-survey.html\" target=\"_blank\">survey by Deloitte<\/a> of global venture capitalists asked what technologies they were most excited about and those which worry them.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the findings of the report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cloud computing remains the top technology investment sector, a distinction received for the third year in a row<\/li>\n<li>Interest in Mobile technology was a very close second\u00a0for investor interest, followed by the Internet of Things (IoT)<\/li>\n<li>Biopharmaceuticals and robotics have seen the biggest percentage gain in venture investment between 2014 and 2015<\/li>\n<li>Investors showed the least interest in renewable energies and hardware and semiconductors<\/li>\n<li>Venture investment confidence is highest in US technology centers, like Silicon Valley, New York and Boston<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bobby Franklin, president and CEO of NVCA, said that &#8220;as the global hub of innovation, there is much for U.S. venture investors to feel excited about. The fundraising environment continues to improve, the IPO market is gaining strength and there is no shortage of innovative, game-changing startup companies to take to the next level. \u00a0Yet in spite of all there is to be confident about, U.S. venture investors continue to believe U.S. policymakers aren&#8217;t doing enough to enact policies that help strengthen the innovation ecosystem. If policymakers were to proceed with some of the most challenging issues of our time, there&#8217;s no telling what we could achieve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
