href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/louiscolumbus\/\" target=\"_blank\">Louis Columbus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Which industries are using big data and data analytics?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>18 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Software industry<\/li>\n<li><strong>11.6 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Manufacturing<\/li>\n<li><strong>9.8 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Retail<\/li>\n<li><strong>7.7 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Entertainment<\/li>\n<li><strong>7.5 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Telecommunications<\/li>\n<li><strong>6.6 percent<\/strong> &#8211; Utilities and Energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other findings of the Evans Data report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Customer-facing apps are among the most common<\/strong> big data and advanced analytics apps. \u00a038.2 percent of all big data and advanced analytics apps fall under that category.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manufacturers are rolling their own<\/strong> apps. \u00a042.6 percent of big data apps in the manufacturing sector were built by enterprises themselves.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data quality can be a killer<\/strong>. \u00a019.2 percent of big data application developers say that data quality is
