Predictions flooded from Gartner’s recent ITExpo, maybe not too surprising:<\/p>\n

– Microsoft Vista<\/a> is collapsing under it’s own weight of complexity and moving parts
\n– Google’s aim<\/a> at the enterprise is unconventional, like a “fog rolling in”, capturing market share slowly and not head-to-head with Microsoft and IBM
\n– IT is moving towards ‘mass production’ and ‘mega data centers<\/a>‘ will become ‘platforms for industrialization’
\n– Analysts can’t agree if Green IT<\/a> is battling ‘myth’ with greenwashing or if they are true heros in the fight against global warming
\n– A third wave of computers is coming, one where computers are imbedded everywhere and totally surround us<\/p>\n

Gartner also made predictions about what they see as the most disruptive technologies. These include<\/a>:
\n – Multicore processors
\n– cloud computing
\n– user interfaces
\n– social networks\/social software
\n– Web mashups<\/font><\/p>\n
