The Internet of Things<\/a> (IoT) market is\u00a0already huge and has a potential for very rapid growth over the next five years. \u00a0This is despite the fact that 87 percent of people have never heard <\/a>of the Internet of Things (IoT).<\/p>\n

There are roughly 5 billion IoT devices<\/a> already and that is expected to increase ten-fold to 50 billion<\/a> by 2020. \u00a0Cisco estimates<\/a> that only .06 percent of things that potentially could be connected to the internet are. \u00a0Their guess is that there are at least 1.5 trillion devices and other things that might be linked in.<\/p>\n

Healthcare is one market segment that is expected to be an early IoT adopter. \u00a0The global healthcare IoT market is expected to grow from $32 billion this year to $163 billion by 2020, according to a report by\u00a0MarketandMarkets<\/a>.<\/p>\n
