Nearly $2 trillion dollars are wasted by US companies using outdated technology which hampers employee\u00a0productivity, according to a survey by Samanage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

More than a third of businesses say they are using technology that they feel is “outdated”. \u00a0But when pressed and asked how newer technology would be able to improve their productivity, forty percent said that they didn’t know.<\/p>\n

The Samanage report finds that the average worker spends about 520 hours or 65 8-hour work days doing mundane tasks that potentially could be automated. \u00a0Samanage suggests that some tasks that could be automated or sped up include password resets, employee onboarding, contract review and approval, and office supply requests.<\/p>\n

Randy Drawas<\/a>, Chief Marketing Officer at Samanage, said that<\/a> “outdated, unproductive technology is burdening U.S. businesses and hurting their employees. In order to create a better work life, organizations need to adopt modern technologies that allows them to streamline their internal operations and provide collaborative, easy-to-use technologies that enable employees to spend more time on meaningful and impactful tasks, and far less time on the repetitive and mundane.”<\/p>\n
