Knowledge workers use productivity tools to funnel and capture their creativity, building successful companies and useful products. The term “knowledge worker” has existed for some time, but technology is evolving the scope of the knowledge worker, and creating a new class of individuals called knowledge entrepreneurs<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Knowledge entrepreneurs reach beyond individual enterprises or corporations. Collaborative and social networking tools democratize information and knowledge. It takes the entrepreneur to be able to see relations among the data, and to be able to organize and apply the relationships in a way that can meet an unfulfilled need.<\/p>\n

Art Murray<\/a> in a KMWorld essay asserts that the professional lives of individuals models that of enterprises. Knowledge Entrepreneurs need to develop and maintain the “four pillars” for success: leadership, organization, learning and technology.<\/p>\n

Knowledge entrepreneurs can shape and style their personal business of themselves. Personal business models require continuous training and investment with personal R&D. The knowledge entrepreneur creates his own network of clients, advisors, suppliers and partners. He invests in making himself more efficient in how he works, paralleling a Business Process Mangement of an enterprise.<\/p>\n

Murray says that “as knowledge entrepreneur, you can join in co-creating the latest breakthroughs by acquiring, sharing, growing and using knowledge for the benefit of society.”<\/p>\n
