Newly released 3D printer models boast gains in speed and\u00a0ability in being able to manufacture very complex objects. \u00a0The capabilities of 3D printers are definitely becoming interesting.<\/p>\n

One\u00a0example is printing technology from Redwood-City based\u00a0Carbon<\/a>. \u00a0Carbon has developed a technology called CLIP that advances 3D printing to the point where it becomes competitive with conventional injection molds, but with much more flexibility. \u00a0The Carbon M1 printer uses UV light to transform fluid resins into materials with differing properties, like stiffness, toughness and flexibility. \u00a0The new M1 printer introduced in early April also is significantly faster in producing objects than earlier generations of 3D printers. \u00a0 Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer<\/a> Joseph DeSimone, told Bloomberg that\u00a0“we don\u2019t print, we grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

The second example is 3D printer technology recently announced by Statasys<\/a>. \u00a0The new Statasys J750 3D printer can print object made of different materials and different colors. \u00a0The post-processing steps of painting and assembling are eliminated. \u00a0Roger A. Kelesoglu<\/a>, Director of Sales Enablement at Stratasys, said that “this is what an eight-year-old imagines a 3D printer can do when they hear about it… \u00a0We live in a full-color world. So what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG). \u00a0The J750 accurately addresses the color gamut\u2026from print to print or machine to machine for unmatched consistency.”<\/p>\n

Josh Claman<\/a>, Stratasys chief business officer, said that<\/a> “we really believe the more we can simplify 3D printing, the larger the market for it becomes.”<\/p>\n
