Machine Learning algorithms are becoming widely used. \u00a0Microsoft<\/a>, Google,\u00a0<\/a>IBM\u00a0<\/a>and Amazon,\u00a0<\/a>for example,\u00a0have all added machine learning options to their cloud offerings. \u00a0Facebook has open-sourced its hardware design<\/a>. Yahoo has also released an open-source AI tool called CaffeOnSpark<\/a>. Chinese giant Baidu has also released open-source AI software<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mark Zuckerburg<\/a>, Facebook CEO, said that “the biggest thing that we\u2019re focused on with artificial intelligence is building computer services that have better perception than people. \u00a0I think it\u2019s possible to get to that point in the next five to 10 years.” \u00a0\u00a0Both Google’s Sundar Pichai’s and Alphabet Chairman Eric Schmidt say that AI will have a major impact of future work with Alphabet\/Google. \u00a0At the recent Microsoft Build 2016 event, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella said that Microsoft is targeting AI as a major focus for their business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In December, 2015, Elon Musk<\/a> became\u00a0co-chair of OpenAI, a $1 billion organization that focuses\u00a0on advancing artificial intelligence that will benefit humanity.<\/p>\n

Vinod Iyengar<\/a>, Director at\u00a0H2O.ai, said that\u00a0\u201cin the last five years the cost of storage has come down dramatically, as has the cost of memory.\u00a0Additionally, anyone can leverage an advanced computing cluster on, say, Amazon Web services, for a few hundred dollars. All of this means that organizations or individuals can take a whole lot of data and produce powerful predictions and insights from the large data sets without facing huge costs.”<\/p>\n
