Their findings may be equally applicable to areas outside of education and include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of a champion or leader for content management projects can negatively impact success<\/li>\n<li>Poor customer engagement tools can negatively impact perception of quality and ability to attract students<\/li>\n<li>System Integrators are often underutilized in implementing content management solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The DCG report found that &#8220;the lack of governance contributes to the steady state of controlled chaos that defines content management practices in higher education today.\u00a0It exacerbates the volume problem because web teams have no formal mechanism for retiring old content. Practitioners recognize that a regular content audit is a best practice, but they are not conducted&#8230; While there is much to be done to bring order to the controlled chaos that is content management today, the real opportunity and the key to long-term survival lies in making progress toward bridging the gap between content management and experience management. \u00a0Institutions can start by taking stock of their capabilities and competencies, identifying and prioritizing those that are most important, and then engaging partners who can help. Action \u2013 any action \u2013 is essential.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a
