Ernst and Young Transaction Advisory Service<\/a> recently performed a survey of nearly 200 IT managers and CIOs.
\nThe survey found <\/a>that SaaS is increasingly being used by businesses and is expected to take a growing share of the IT budget.<\/p>\n

IT professionals were asked their opinion of IT:<\/p>\n

50 percent<\/strong> – Supports SaaS enthusiastically, even if it was originally adopted by shadow IT
\n25 percent<\/strong> – Supports the status quo, SaaS or otherwise
\n25 percent<\/strong> – Prefers traditional IT and wants to shut down any SaaS initiatives<\/p>\n

How much of the total company IT budget is controlled directly by IT?:
\nNow – 75 percent<\/strong>
\nFuture – 66 percent<\/strong><\/p>\n

What percent of your server, storage and network management infrastructure is in SaaS?:
\nNow – 5-15 percent<\/strong>
\nFuture – 40-50 percent<\/strong><\/p>\n
