{"id":6808,"date":"2016-11-18T07:00:36","date_gmt":"2016-11-18T15:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=6808"},"modified":"2016-10-18T07:13:00","modified_gmt":"2016-10-18T15:13:00","slug":"internet-of-things-iot-analytics-is-key-as-adoption-grows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/internet-of-things-iot-analytics-is-key-as-adoption-grows\/","title":{"rendered":"Internet of Things (IoT): Analytics is Key as Adoption Grows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One-third of large businesses have already begun implementing IoT solutions, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20160921005122\/en\/IDCs-2016-Global-IoT-Decision-Maker-Survey\">according to IDC<\/a>. \u00a0Another 43 percent are considering to roll out IoT systems within the next 12 months. \u00a0The numbers seem high, but IoT is gaining interest quickly among businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Other findings of the IDC report include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than half of businesses say that IoT will be strategic to the way they operate<\/li>\n<li>Benefits of IoT\n<ul>\n<li>24 percent &#8211; productivity<\/li>\n<li>22 percent &#8211; time to market<\/li>\n<li>22 percent &#8211; process automation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An important factor in acceptance of IoT will be the use of analytics. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strategicmobility.com\/nico-genet\/\">Nico Genet<\/a>, director of IoT and co-founder of SMG3, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/internet-of-things\/300082175\/idc-internet-of-things-gaining-traction-as-enterprises-look-for-the-next-level-of-data-analytics.htm\">told CRN<\/a> that \u00a0&#8220;you need to use\u00a0the\u00a0next level of analytics because end users want to see more beyond just the hardware.\u00a0With any ruggedized device, end users want to go deeper. That next phase [of IoT] is happening; customers want to use the data faster and more wisely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a
