Today is World Paper Free Day<\/a>. \u00a0It’s a day\u00a0AIIM says that businesses should use to think about “working smarter, decreasing the paper entry points, and how to improve your processes.”<\/p>\n

Bob Larrivee<\/a>, chief analyst at AIIM, said that<\/a> “the once elusive concept of paper-free business operations is today a real possibility and real progress has been made over the past 12 months.\u00a0It remains unrealistic to think that all business processes and transactions will be paper-free in the near future, but there are definitely certain processes where paper can be removed.”<\/p>\n

The good news is that there has been a marked improvement in use of digital communications. \u00a0Two-thirds of businesses say that they have seen an increase of inbound digital documents. \u00a041 percent say that the amount of physical mail and hardcopy documents coming into their organizations is decreasing. \u00a0Twenty-five percent of businesses now say that they’ve eliminated paper processes from their business.<\/p>\n
