It’s been nearly a year since the Defense Department’s 5015.2 specification for records management was updated to version 3.\u00a0 5015.2 product certification, once achieved, is good for two years after the testing date.\u00a0 All certifications for version 2 compliant products will have
\nexpired by December 2009.\u00a0 Only version 3 certifications are currently being issued.<\/p>\n

The new components of version 3 include:<\/p>\n

– Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act support
\n– Tougher requirements around Data Security and Data Integrity
\n– Requirement to import and export data via XML data schemas<\/p>\n
