{"id":7216,"date":"2017-03-20T07:00:06","date_gmt":"2017-03-20T15:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=7216"},"modified":"2017-02-12T14:44:04","modified_gmt":"2017-02-12T22:44:04","slug":"blockchain-bringing-disruption-to-the-financial-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/blockchain-bringing-disruption-to-the-financial-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Blockchain: Bringing Disruption to the Financial Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The financial industry has worries about the potential impact that blockchain can have on the financial industry and, more specifically, their business.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent survey of financial industry executives, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.synechron.com\/news\/94-financial-services-executives-believe-boards-have-bought-blockchain-synechron-survey-shows\">Synechron <\/a>found that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>89 percent said that they expect blockchain-based financial products to be commonplace by 2026.<\/li>\n<li>94\u00a0percent say that they are already actively exploring the uses of blockchain<\/li>\n<li>87 percent say that they have enough budget to explore blockchain projects<\/li>\n<li>70 percent say that they don&#8217;t have enough skills to be able to implement blockchain projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/profiles\/episcini.html\">Eric Piscini<\/a>, principal at Deloitte, <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.deloitte.com\/us\/en\/pages\/about-deloitte\/articles\/press-releases\/deloitte-survey-blockchain-reaches-beyond-financial-services-with-some-industries-moving-faster.html\">said that<\/a> &#8220;most financial services companies have been involved in blockchain via their labs, investments, and pilots for a while now. Other industries are now starting to realize the potential for disruption, as well as the new opportunities that blockchain creates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Problems\/issues with blockchain that have financial executives worried include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>25 percent worry about regulatory guidance<\/li>\n<li>29 percent say interoperability and technical standards are problems, and<\/li>\n<li>20 percent say that they worry about scalability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
