The Big Data and\u00a0Business Analytics market sector is growing at a rate of 12 percent annually and is expected to reach $150 billion this year and $210 billion by 2020, according to IDC<\/a>. \u00a0The IDC report identifies companies with more an 1000 employees as the biggest spenders on big data, accounting for about two-thirds of all spending. About half of the money spent this year will be made by banking, discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, government, and professional services. \u00a0Spending will focus primarily on IT and business services.<\/p>\n

Dan Vesset<\/a>, group vice president, analytic and information management, said that<\/a> “after years of traversing the adoption S-curve, big data and business analytics solutions have finally hit mainstream. BDA as an enabler of decision support and decision automation is now firmly on the radar of top executives. This category of solutions is also one of the key pillars of enabling digital transformation efforts across industries and business processes globally.”<\/p>\n
