{"id":7355,"date":"2017-05-11T07:00:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-11T15:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=7355"},"modified":"2017-04-06T07:32:16","modified_gmt":"2017-04-06T15:32:16","slug":"cloud-computing-public-cloud-overtaking-private-clouds-in-enterprises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/cloud-computing-public-cloud-overtaking-private-clouds-in-enterprises\/","title":{"rendered":"Cloud Computing: Public Cloud Overtaking Private Clouds in Enterprises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017 survey on Cloud Computing by RightScale found that cloud computing has become the norm across most enterprise. \u00a095 percent of organizations are using at least one cloud and 85 percent are using more than one. \u00a0The average business now runs the majority of its production apps in the cloud.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Private and Hybrid cloud usage is slowly slipping in favor of the public cloud<\/li>\n<li>41 percent of businesses had production workloads on the public cloud versus 38 percent running in a private cloud<\/li>\n<li>On average, enterprise cloud users accessed data in 1.8 public clouds and 2.3 private clouds<\/li>\n<li>Business units are increasingly likely to bypass IT in making decisions about selecting cloud apps and services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_7356\" style=\"width: 568px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.datamation.com\/cloud-computing\/public-cloud.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7356\" class=\"wp-image-7356 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cloud-Use.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"558\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cloud-Use.png 558w, https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Cloud-Use-300x152.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7356\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Cloud Type Usage &#8212; From Datamation<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightscale.com\/blog\/cloud-industry-insights\/cloud-computing-trends-2017-state-cloud-survey\">The RightScale report <\/a>found &#8220;that while hybrid cloud remains the preferred enterprise strategy, public cloud adoption is growing while private cloud adoption flattened and fewer companies are prioritizing building a private cloud. This was a change from last year\u2019s survey, where we saw strong gains in private cloud use.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a
