The driving force for the growth are the demands in enterprises \u00a0to manage data, comply with regulations, and to mitigate risk.<\/p>\n<p>The ECM market though is currently experiencing some bumpy growth as traditional ECM products and suites are merged and rebranded. \u00a0The recent acquisition of <a href=\"http:\/\/investors.opentext.com\/releasedetail.cfm?releaseid=1008718\">Documentum by OpenText is one example<\/a>. \u00a0Another is the shuffling of IBM&#8217;s FileNet product to be<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tsgrp.com\/2017\/05\/30\/filenet-is-ibm-planning-on-selling-it\/\"> part of the Watson project<\/a>. \u00a0This is clearly a time for opportunity for stand-alone vendors like Alfresco that are leading the ECM vision.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/doc\/reprints?id=1-3KZPGDB&amp;ct=161031&amp;st=sb\">Gartner predicts<\/a> that by 2018 we will see the following in the ECM market:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Half of enterprises using ECM will be using hybrid systems (cloud + on-premise)<\/li>\n<li>File synchronization and sharing will be a built-in feature of almost all ECM software<\/li>\n<li>Half of top-brand ECM software vendors will re-architect their software to include cloud capability<\/li>\n<li>20 percent of business content will have been generated by machines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div class=\"lightsocial_element\"><a class=\"lightsocial_a\"
