{"id":7646,"date":"2017-09-05T07:00:22","date_gmt":"2017-09-05T15:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/?p=7646"},"modified":"2017-07-30T19:35:35","modified_gmt":"2017-07-31T03:35:35","slug":"government-it-technology-change-leaves-it-workers-less-confident-about-how-to-do-their-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formtek.com\/blog\/government-it-technology-change-leaves-it-workers-less-confident-about-how-to-do-their-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Government IT: Technology Change Leaves IT Workers Less Confident about How to do their Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Technology is changing quickly and people worry that the federal government is not at all able to keep up with the changes.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20170719005019\/en\/New-Splunk-Research-Finds-Declining-Confidence-Public\">survey sponsored by Splunk and executed by the Ponemon Institute<\/a> found IT workers feeling the pressures of quickly changing technology. \u00a060 percent of works say that they feel less confident in performing the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing the scale and complexity of IT tasks<\/li>\n<li>Consistently meet service-level agreements<\/li>\n<li>Pin-point root causes and sources of errors and failures<\/li>\n<li>Efficiently run IT operations<\/li>\n<li>Migrate data, workflow and applications to the cloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ponemon.org\/management\">Larry Ponemon<\/a>, chairman and founder, Ponemon Institute,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20170719005019\/en\/New-Splunk-Research-Finds-Declining-Confidence-Public\"> said that<\/a> &#8220;the confidence gap we are seeing maps to other industry and government technology trends including growing public scrutiny, ever-present resource limitations and rapidly increasing expectations of technology by end-users. There\u2019s never been a more important time for public sector organizations to embrace analytics to help them face and overcome these challenges with data. It\u2019s a challenging time to work in government IT, but there are plenty of reasons to be hopeful for the future. It\u2019s not surprising public sector IT leaders are looking to analytics, cloud and DevOps to help accelerate IT performance and management.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightsocial_container\"><div
